Exercising On The Cheap

by mapgirl on January 29, 2010

We bought an exercise bicycle just before Christmas. (*He* bought it and canceled his gym membership.) So a couple times I week, I hop on for about 20-30 minutes of high intensity cycling. I’m so out of shape, I have to start off small like this. While I prefer running, an exercise bicycle takes up [...]

It’s Like Being Kicked When You Are Down

by mapgirl on January 29, 2009

You know what’s really scary? The peanut butter-salmonella recall is scary. Because folks are probably avoiding peanut butter altogether and in tough times, peanut butter is awesome cheap protein. God bless George Washington Carver for inventing the stuff, because there have been times when PBJ was about all I could afford to eat in college.

Free Vaccinations at Work

Boyfriend’s neighbor was getting rid of one and he [boyfriend] knew I was interested in buying one of the used ones that always comes up on Craigslist. Since boyfriend happened to have [...]

Tough Conversation With My Mom

by mapgirl on February 26, 2007

This weekend I was describing autism to my mother and my weirdly autistic tendencies. (I tend to listen to one CD in my car over and over again every day, even though I have an in-dash 6 fully loaded up with 5 other options. I also like to repeat the same song over and over [...]

2006 Budget Overview – The GOOD

by mapgirl on December 27, 2006

Surprisingly, there were some good things in my budget.
On the income side, because I made an effort to save, I made ~$100.00 in interest by doing nothing but saving! I like that! I don’t think 2007 will see a comparable number unless people want ING referrals from me. The ones I got from 2006 were [...]
