Damage? ~$102.00.
The haul?
Small jug of soy sauce
Rice vinegar
10lb bag of rice
Fresh herbs (sage, rosemary, cilantro, dill)
Green onion
Shallot
Various soy protein products (seitan, puffs)
Frozen Pupusas
Indian spice mixes
Falafel mix
Half dozen eggs (Not a good price, so just a few to tide us over)
Orange-Tangerine juice
Lemons
Garlic
MSG
Dashi powder
Noodles (Somen, Soba)
Pork cutlets (tonkatsu, hard to get sliced thin in bulk)
Cornish hen
I’m sure there were a few other things in there, but we were probably the only customers buying from every single section of the shop. Our basket went all over the map. I was surprised to see zatar even (A Middle Eastern herb similar to thyme) because I heard it was hard to get.
I made some jook with the Cornish hen to aid my cough. I’ll have to figure out what else to do with the soy products, but I am excited to freeze the pork into little packages for later thawing.

Sounds like a cook international market.
I’m glad I’m not the only one around with a 1 pound bag of MSG sitting in the spice drawer.
BTW, seitan is made from wheat gluten(wheat protein), not soybeans.
aheem…that is, “a cute international market”
