Tuesday: No Spend Day #2 this week. Not too shabby.
I packed up some sausage bread pudding for lunch and orange bell pepper sticks. It was a pretty heavy lunch despite the veg so all I had for dinner last night was a little snack. (Triscuits and cheese leftover from camping) I am trying to mind my daily calorie intake as well and I suspect with all the cheese, meat and whole milk in the pudding, it was best to take it eat something small for dinner.
I forgot I have a dinner appointment tonight with a friend of mine who is recently engaged. She showing me her ring and we’ll generally catch up about shacking up with our respective boyfriends. It’s been a while since we’ve talked and I’m excited to see her. I told her to pick a place out. Since I spent bank on clothes this week and she makes less than I do, the only criterion I gave her was that it couldn’t be too expensive. (I’m the spendthrift in our friendship anyway, but she knows I can be really frugal too.)
Friday night is a Moby concert in DC. The tickets are purchased, but the problem of drinks will mean it’s not going to be a No Spend Day. Would that it were. That would make 3 days in one week. Saturday plans have not been finalized yet, but I’ll probably do a large grocery run that day so it looks like there will be only 2 days this week.
I’ve figured out that if pack lunch for over a month, that I’d save enough money to pay for my latest clothes purchase. (I spend an average of $8-9 per day on lunch.) I doubt I can sustain the effort that long, but I might be able to make it all week this week if I don’t rebel against leftovers. (Thank god we’re having pizza today to give me a break from leftovers. I don’t care how good my cooking is, I really can’t eat re-warmed stuff all week long.)
