Clothing Spending Report

by mapgirl on August 27, 2009

So far, I’ve spent $373.98 for the year. That includes a haircut for $22. Not too bad, but I need a few more things as I mentioned before.

Things I hope to buy soon:
Dress winter coat ($150-200)
Dark formal shoes ($80-100)
No-iron shirts (2 @~$50 each)

That’s about it. I am so picky about shoes that it may take me a while to find what I want, or I’ll just end up plunking down $25 for a pair of shoes at Target to get me by. I despise ballerina flats. I’ve always hated them and their horrible lack of arch support.

It would be cool if I spent less than $500 for the year considering how much I spent last year.

-In 2008 I spent almost $2000.00 because ~$1000 went to a new suit wardrobe for my new job.

-In 2007, I spent $893.16, which includes shoe repair, a manicure and some jewelry. I can’t tell if that’s a lot. I think it is.

-In 2006, I spent $588.79, which included an insanely expensive Lilly skirt that I can’t even fit anymore. (Too fat)

-In 2005, I spent $1689.86, a huge chunk of that went towards two Utilikilts (which I still wear), better businesswear for work (I had a major job change that year and moved into a more formal work environment.) and boots I still wear today.

I don’t know. I think any year I spend more than $1K on clothing is a lot. I don’t wear pantyhose to work if I can possibly help it so that seems to hold a lot of my costs down.

I’m not a shopper, at least I didn’t think I was. I glanced at Mint and realized that I have a shopping problem. I have already spent $100 more than last year and its only September. Looks like I know where the fat is in my budget.

Congrats on being so disciplined with your shopping.
