In the Dentist’s Chair

by mapgirl on August 14, 2009

I have another filling today. It’s to replace an old silver one. Actually, I rarely have a new cavity needing filling anymore. Slowly, my dentist is replacing my silver amalgam ones with ceramic. I’ve been getting them done at a rate of about 1-2 per year.

So that’s $350 out of my HSA today. Quite a co-pay. I think after this, I’ll have one more dental cleaning this year and no more work done till next year. My last permanent crown will have to wait till then. (It’s been 2 years since the surgery I think.)

Even with dental insurance I dread my upcoming trip to the dentist – it always puts a big dent in my medical reimbursement account.
