My motorcycle isn’t running. The carburetor is clogged and so I had to trailer it to my boyfriend’s house and I’ll probably trailer it to our new rental because we’re under severe time constraints. My boyfriend did not have time to fix the engine before we had to move. I’m only trying to get it running so I can sell it.
There were a lot more moving expenses I have to budget and I’m sort of closing my eyes and writing checks/charging things. It’s only sort of working out with the August rent income and security deposit from my tenant. (Yes, I let her move in without giving me the security deposit. I wrote into the lease that she had to give me the deposit in full on August 1st.)
Unfortunately my boyfriend’s mother was recently laid off, but fortunately the timing is good for us because she helped us move and do a few touchups around the house. She drives a mega huge SUV so we only needed movers for the heavy furniture again. (Another post)
I’m also on a different cycle for paying the rent now. Instead of paying on the first of the month, I plan to push the rent money to my boyfriend around the 25th of every month so he can mail the check on the 1st. So my cash flow across the month demands that I have a lot at the end of the month instead of zero. We’ll see how this new system works out.
The internets are wonky at the new place so I’ll try to get some complete moving expense write ups done. Renting again after 5 years has been a really interesting experience now that I have more money than ever before. (i.e. my own and leveraging my boyfriend’s.)

I’m been keeping track of my moving expenses for the month. Pretty hard to watch when I used my whole emergency fund for the security deposit (and I had no security deposit on the last one). Almost up to 1,000 and expecting to pass it. Yikes! And with extra expenses involved monthly its no more than $50/month cheaper then our last place. Oh well.
Good luck on settling on it. Find something to relieve the stress I know its hectic.
