I drive about 300 miles in a week. I use about 4 tanks of gas in a month so my budget is $100 of gas per month at $25 a fill-up.
Lately since the price of 87 octane gas has risen over $2.50+ a gallon and it’s costing me closer to $35 to fill-up. I’ve increased my monthly budget for gas to $150.
Are you adjusting your budgets this summer to accommodate the rising price of gas?

We adjust our gas budget every few months as needed.
LOL–I cheat! My budget last summer (when gas was over $4 a gallon) was $160 a month. Now that it is down (though once again rising), I still budget the same $160 per month. If I have money left over at the end of the month, I apply it to my debt snowball.
We had to adjust our gas budget from $100 a month to $150. Our food and energy budgets had to increase as well. Now vacation time will be put on hold for this summer as I suspect the prices will go even higher. I think we should find domestic solutions. I am in favor of offshore drilling and found a site where we can let Washington know about it. http://tinyurl.com/lx5jto Will they listen? Who knows.
I hadn’t planned to, but between the rising gas prices and having no job which means I’ll actually be driving again, I’m revisiting the budget. Soon.
Mapgirl, I hope you don’t mind me mentioning this but since the post is about your gas budget, I figure it applies.
I am giving away 2 free gas cards to celebrate my 2 year blogoversary.

Filling our car up completely would cost around $A90 ($US74) – 70 litre tank. Your car must have a small tank? Luckily we don’t drive much.
