First off, I haven’t actually hired one. But I can tell you that you shouldn’t ever call a CPA firm a few days after April 15th. Your call will slip through the cracks.
May is a much better time to call. So far the screening process has been very interesting. I’ve talked two places and I have an appointment with one. The second place was very nice, but actually slightly discouraging because in their assessment of my needs, recommended that I might want to do it myself and save myself the money. (He wasn’t cheap, but he was very kind.)
So we shall see what happens next week when I have my first appointment.
ps- I’m hiring a CPA so I can get some tax advice on my renovations and how to file taxes when you own a property in a different state.

I think it says a lot about the one who suggested you save your money. Even if you do actually need the advice, most accountants would take your money without ever blinking twice.
Howe ownership via another state is difficult to manage. good luck and I hope you find the advice you are looking for!
