I’m a greedy little bastard or ruthless capitalist, take your pick. My season ticket neighbors were slightly dismayed to be sitting near some Rangers fans during Round 1. They’re a lovely older couple, so I was a bit sheepish, but money doesn’t grow on trees. If some opposing team’s fans want to be suckers and pay me a lot of money, I’m ok with that.
I did try to do something fancy and upgrade for one of the games to Club Level seats, however, NBC royally screwed me by scheduling a game for Saturday 1pm, instead of what would have been a traditional Friday 7pm game. I had to sell those seats for a deep discount. I was very angry about this for days on end, till I realized that I was buying my playoff tickets for a lot less than face value. (Thank you, Ted!)
So I have sold off a pair of Round 2, Game 2 tickets. I hope they didn’t go to a Penguins fan, but they *wanted* to pay me double the face value, at 5 times my true cost. (I am however sorry to have missed a game with a double hat trick by two of the NHL’s top players. Que sera, sera.)
I was thinking that I’d buy myself a new Mike Green sweater or maybe a Semyon Varlamov one, but I’ve decided that all the ticket proceeds will have to go towards moving expenses. (Proceeds do not quite cover the auto body repair, but very close. Definitely will of the Caps make it to Round 3.)
