Now that the weather is finally warming up in DC, I’d kind of like to do some stuff outdoors rather than be cooped up in the Phone Booth. Boyfriend made a confession that he’d like to skip Round 1, Game 5 and do something tonight. I agreed. We can watch the game on tape. I really do hope they win so we can attend a Game 7 too. (The Caps have to win the next 3 in a row or they’re out.)
So I sold my $48/seat tickets for $75 each and now I’ve covered some losses I took on Game 2 seats I had to sell because the NHL and NBC suck eggs and moved that game to Saturday instead of Friday night just to make more money. (And royally screwing just about everyone in DC because 1pm game times mean you’re missing your kid’s soccer game, ballet class, etc.) Because we had to go pick up boyfriend’s car in St. Louis last week, we had to dump the tickets. (Yes, there was a discussion about this and everyone shares some blame here. My sad attempt to check out the Club Level failed miserably. Now I’ll never know if those 200-level seats are any good at all.)
Lately we’ve been having better luck selling tickets from Craigslist than through Stubhub. I am not sure I ever want to be in a situation again where I’m stuck with an expiring listing ever again. The panic and terror of losing $300 for club seats kept me awake at night. I just don’t have $300 to lose these days. Who does?
