Follow me here on Twitter!

I read in a book somewhere that birds call out “I’m here. Where are you?” And that is generally what we hear them tweeting all day long when it’s not general bird song or mating calls. All day long they let the other birds know where they are.

I was reluctant to Twitter, but honestly, now I love it. I wasn’t sure what it was for, but I get it as a blog and relationship building tool. Plus not everything I think about is post-worthy here.

Now the question is:
1. What phone interface do people like? (I’m wondering what kind of phone you use and what Twitter application you like best.)
2. Do you only upload tweets or do you receive tweets too?
3. Did you have to change your data plan?

For me, I have a Motorola KRZR and frankly, I hate it. I desperately miss the old StarTac phone, but let’s get real, that was so 1999, it hurts. I was leaning towards the LG enV the last time I looked at phones, and it’s still appealing, but I was also looking at iPhones, and unlimited data plans. (Right now my current plan lets me pay $3 a month for 100 SMS texts. I rarely go over that.)

Wow, your plan sounds great! I have the bb storm with verizon, just gave up my krzr after to years. They (Verizon) have a $5 a month unlimited texting, but I’ll see how my intermitent text turn out on the next bill. I kind of like that I can control some extra expenses month to month that are not essential. I haven’t been over to twitter much, so can’t say how that would work on my bb storm.

I use Tweetie (3?) or TwitterFon (free) on my iPhone, and don’t use SMS for twitter at all. The apps use my existing unlimited data plan, so there’s no marginal cost.

Totally unrelated, I unlocked my iPhone to use T-Mobile instead of AT&T. Cheaper plans for voice and data, better customer service, less rolling over for warrantless wiretaps.
