I know I’m not going to lose my job any time soon, but I am anxious. Very anxious. I can’t seem to shake the feeling that I am not as secure as I’d like. But the weird thing is that my job is secure. I am doing well at work and the way things on [...]

At work, about once a week, someone brings in breakfast. It’s my turn soon and someone asked, “What do Koreans eat for breakfast?” My reply, “Whatever they eat for dinner, just less of it.”
Read this article by Mark Bittman. It’s great. You don’t have to eat traditional stick to your ribs breakfast, nor do you [...]

On my 2009 action plan, I actually cleaned some stuff up at my apartment. I didn’t realize how much my shredder was getting filled. I dumped one bag of trash, one bag of shredded papers and one bag of recycling. heh heh. I even overheated my crazy huge shredder so I have to go back [...]

Sistah Ant asked me to clarify if I was going to pay down some of debt in 2009 or all of it. I meant to say ALL of it. That means about $15K remaining. Of course, I’m having a bad February and March trying to make that goal. I just bought plane tickets for me [...]

Wildly colored tulips made of red, green, and pink colored chocolate. Specialty holiday windows like tons of Easter bunnies!
I read the story [...]

The local Italian food wholesaler has cheap wines for sale by the cash register. They’re priced at $3.99-5.99. SUPER cheap!
At first I thought, “These must not be very good. Or else very old and not stored well. Surely all of them must be vinegar.” Surely not at all! Most labels are [...]

Read about Citizens South and what they are doing with the bailout money and how much their CEO makes. Oh yeah, they’re right across the river from Wachovia and BofA in Charlotte.
Corporate responsibility and stewardship. He’s taking care of my taxpayer money and helping his community in the ways it needs helping.

All four members of my immediate family were born in winter (Dec to March). There’s a big birthday planned for my dad in California. He’s repeatedly told me and my mom that he wants to go see his grandchildren. Since dad is turning 70, this is exciting stuff. It’s been 3 years since his stroke [...]

I last wrote about my goals in December, but I hadn’t set them in stone.
This is what I initially thought I would do:
1. Pay down my credit card debt. Target balance for December 2009 is $3000.00.
2. Save 20% of my salary between my 401k, ESPP, HSA.
But that seems too easy. The second goal is a [...]
