The market is down and I checked my 401k/Retirement balances today. I’m down by 1/3rd. LOL.
All you can do now is laugh, else you’ll cry. Plus I have 30+ years to go till retirement.

I’m sorry about that. The main thing that makes me feel better is the prices at which I’m buying new stock.
I did the same double take this morning! I hadn’t looked in a couple of weeks and wasn’t prepared for what I saw. To somehow justify it, I threw more money into it. I had stopped my automatic payments when money got tight, so I haven’t maxed out my annual contribution. My IRA is starting to resemble my prosper account!
I find huddling oneself up in a ball, rocking back and forth and muttering “I got plenty of time, I got plenty of time” helps.

Asset Gatherer – You should do a post about your Prosper performance. I’d be curious to hear what your story is.
Looking at my 401k, it’s down ~25% since September…
And Brian A and I have the same feeling…just assure yourself that it’ll be better in years to come!
What can you do at this stage? just hope for the best to happen. You can just wait for the market to grow and hope it does so. But the encouraging thing for you is that you still have plenty of time left for retirement. So you can afford to wait for things to change.
