Dear Comcast,
You have finally broken the camel’s back with your straws last week.
On Thursday, I received two of the same pieces of junk mail from you. That is on top of a piece of junk mail you sent earlier in the same week. That’s 3 pieces of mail to capture my business in one week, not to mention the other pieces of mail you sent me in the past month.
If someone called me on the phone like this, it would be harassment and stalker behavior.
You’re not even offering to buy me a TV with all your special deals.
Heck, you could offer me a 42-inch flat screen HD TV with NESN, GolTV and ESPN channels for all my Red Sox, soccer and Capitals viewing pleasure, and I’d still turn you down. I just don’t want to own a TV.
I’m on the DMA opt-out list. Why won’t you pay attention? Is it because the granny who lived in my apartment before me canceled her account and won’t come back? I’ve noticed you don’t address the mail to her anymore.
Leave her and me alone before I call the cops, er, FTC.
Sincerely,
mapgirl

Hello Mapgirl,
Sorry about the unsolicited mails.
Please send me the address so that we can remove it from any of our contact/marketing lists.
Best Regards,

haha….oh man, that was seriously the funniest post you’ve ever written. i love you.
Kudos to Comcast, however, for having someone’s job be to scour blogs looking for complaints. I mean, 90 minutes for a reply, you might have waited that long if you’d called them!
Our cable company Time Warner did the same amount of junk mail to me, but once I called them and asked to be removed from their marketing list, it stopped. Of course, if they wanted to be really friendly, they could have a phone number and/or website printed on the bottom of their mailers explaining how to opt out. Would that be too hard for them to do?
