Over here you can have a lager shandy or a bitter shandy with any lager (fizzy) or bitter (flat beer) you like. It's just the thing for summer (apparently - I don't drink beer so it's not my thing) and loads of people order them in any pub or bar anywhere, expecially at lunchtime as it cuts down the alcohol levels, and still looks like a real pint :-) Heheh, a shandy must be a British thing.
