Casual Friday is one of my favourite things about working for a government department. Makes Friday, which is inherently good already, an even better day. :)

Nice! I try to strike that balance at the library job. On the one hand, I have a coworker who always wears the same polo shirt, baseball cap, and jeans every day (I'm not sure why, but I know he wears the cap to hide a growth on his forehead so that's allowed). And on the other, some of the librarians dress up in....librarian professional. Not suits, but pretty.

So some days I wear jeans and a dress shirt, other days I come in full dress clothes, occasionally I'll wear dress pants with a plain/stylish tee.

Any way I dress, I still seem to draw the library weirdos. I'm the only woman under 30 in the library, so I guess it makes sense.

Its nice not to have to upgrade your wardrobe just to meet what's expected at a job. I try to aim for the upper end of the status quo myself and that does mean I can occasionally get away with jeans and a nice shirt with dress shoes.

Flip-flops in almost every work environment puts me off (the exception being beach related jobs).
