I live here too. I can think of a few days when it got nippy, but otherwise, it's been manageable. My friend is still biking 6 miles each way to work - that's how I determine how cold it is. :) And here I thought I was getting too sensitive to cold! And everything I buy at AT requires hemming too. Even the jacket sleeves. Very frustrating. It’s cold in DC? I live here too. I can think of a few days when it got nippy, but otherwise, it’s been manageable. It really sounds like you've added key pieces to your wardrobe. If you really like your Joan & David shoes, try searching on Ebay. I found a replacement for a pair of my shoes on eBay...
