Hi Liz,

I have taken the bus. Here are my thoughts:

1) Cheap. And you get what you pay for.
2) Often no bathroom. So you have to limit your liquid intake or wear Depends.
3) Schedule is often undependable.
4) If you take the late night bus, you may be left in a dangerously inconvenient spot. Say, a deserted Wall Street at 1am Saturday morning when it's difficult to hail a cab.
5) Hard to get a seat back on Sunday afternoon because there are so many people trying to leave when you are.

Rather than spend 5-7 hours by bus, I decided to spend about 3.5 on the train with a toilet, free drinking water, and electrical outlet. To me, it was worth the extra $100 I am paying round-trip.

Have you tried the Chinatown bus? I have found it very comfortable, cheap and convenient.
