He also made a bit of money at the start of the South Sea Bubble, then got too greedy and reinvested near the top and ended up losing money. There’s a famouns quote of his:
“I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people.”
So I wouldn’t choose him as my Financial Idol

I don’t know about a financial idol, but Newton is a phenomenal idol to have if you’re into math, any kind of science, or technology. Without Calculus the technological progress we have made in the last couple of hundred years would not be possible. Yay Newton! Brilliant man.
