Ugh. I had the same thing happen right before the holidays. Turned out, I’d left the card at the restaurant where I ate lunch, and someone stole it and used it to buy baby clothes in Leesburg. I was actually able to get a real person on the phone easily, but trying to explain to the loss prevention person what happened didn’t work so well. She just couldn’t understand what happened. I would have been better off talking to a machine, I think.

hmm that sucks.

this usually works for a credit card company to expedite the card faster: tell them you’re going on vacation soon (or some such) and will need to spend money.

guess it wont really work for check cards though? that’s rather silly that they’ll charge extra to get the card to you faster, I mean I understand that depending on the size of the bank, they’ll need to get the card printed out and what not.. but if this is a national chain, they should be able to get it to you faster…

I think I was 19, when I lost my suntrust visa check card. I totally freaked out, because I know credit card liabilities are capped ($50) I think. But debit cards did not have the protection back then. So I canceled it and moved to an ATM card. It sucks loosing your card, glad you took care of it.

Can I manage 2 weeks without cash?
Of course, that’s what my real credit cards are for Seriously, I keep some cash around for absolutly emergencies, thankfully I have not need to dive into it.

Can I go without cash for two weeks? Is that a joke? I’d have heart palpitations if I lost my card, if for no other reason than I’d be scared that someone was emptying out my account… they wouldn’t get much, but I need every last penny!
