I had the same thing happen right before the holidays. Turned out, I'd left the card at the restaurant where I ate lunch, and someone stole it and used it to buy baby clothes in Leesburg. I was actually able to get a real person on the phone easily, but trying to explain to the loss prevention person what happened didn't work so well. She just couldn't understand what happened. I would have been better off talking to a machine, I think. Ugh. I had the same thing happen right before the holidays. I totally freaked out, because I know credit card liabilities are capped ($50) I think. But debit cards did not have the protection back then. So I canceled it and moved to an ATM card. It sucks loosing your card, glad you took care of it. Can I manage 2 weeks without cash? Of course, that's what my real credit cards are for :) Seriously, I keep some cash around for absolutly emergencies, thankfully I have not need to dive into it. p.s.
