Shamed into Frugal Behavior

by mapgirl on December 7, 2006

Normally I do not order dessert. I don’t have a sweet tooth. For some reason (PMS) I really wanted a dessert last night after dinner. Wednesdays I go out to meet some girlfriends in a knitting group. Typically I split a pizza with one of the girls and I’m full from that. But last night I got a small carrot bundt cake.

I couldn’t eat the whole thing. I don’t like sweets that much and all I really needed was a taste. I wonder if I could have sucked on a cough drop or candy and taken care of the sugar fix. I had a few Ricola in my bag from the airline flight. I like them because my throat doesn’t dry out and become susceptible to colds.

I was going to leave half the cake there and throw it away. I couldn’t decide what to do since I didn’t actually like the cake that much. My two friends told me to wrap it up and take it with me and eat to tomorrow. So blindly, I did. I ate it just now for a morning snack.

It still wasn’t that great, but at least I didn’t waste half a mini-cake. I didn’t spend money on breakfast today.
