Credit Card Shame

Yet another month of credit card debts racked up. This is frightening. I haven’t had this much credit card debt ever. Some of it was a balance transfer of other debt which is sitting at 0%. But most of it is not. Most of it is from 2006, traveling, dental work, automobile repairs and overall just letting everything slide into a horrible mess.

I reposted a Debt-O-Meter balance and hopefully this will be the last one while I keep focusing on building back my cash reserves. I am making one final huge deposit next week to my ING savings account which will put the Save-O-Meter back to the full level on the left. (If anyone wants an ING account referral, please email me at mapgirlsfiscalchallenge at Google’s mail service.)

I feel you MapGirl, I’m waiting for one more month till i can start paying down my debt. Good luck on that, just try to conserve your spending till you get out of the hole.

I feel your pain! I am waiting for December 15th’s paycheck because my hubby will have a lot of overtime pay and also because that’s when I get my Christmas bonus. We too had a lot of stupid spending on our part, some car troubles and some balance transfers too.

    Hang in there!

I slid a large amount out of ING back into checking a few weeks ago, and it all got sucked up by real expenses before I knew it. I was sure glad to have that cushion, tho.

I’ve been doing the stupid (and sometimes necessary)spending this month as well. My car cost me over $1,000 and then came some other unexpected expenses. I’m almost affraid for what christmas will bring.

I feel your pain. I went away for a month and while most of my expenses were covered from my savings, there were too many times where the credit card was the only way I could pay for something. Then I promptly forgot about it.

I came home to a potential $1100 cost on my car (I’m fighting it), every bill imaginable and an unexpected huge bill for the phone. *sigh*

Saving is hard when you’re paying for stuff like this. I’ve always been a saver but somehow the more I earn now, the less I sock away. Need to get back on that bandwagon.
