Welcome to my new site!
I am so happy you’re visiting me here. I apologize for this place still being a work in progress, but it’ll get better soon.
Today is an observed Federal holiday here in Washington DC, because Saturday is Veterans’ Day. (Please remember to honor our veterans of all wars this Friday and Saturday. You can start by going here and making a donation for voice-activated laptops for soldiers with amputations. Thank you Blackfive for pointing this out and leading for Army! This mapgirl has no preference for branch of service, but I do like those ‘faggoty white uniforms’ that Navy guys wear. You can tell what pattern they’re wearing underneath while riding the DC Metro.)
But, par the usual, I digress. I am happy to be here. I have only ONE commenting system because I dropped Haloscan since WordPress has trackback enabled without me messing up and having two commenting systems. I’m less of a blogging dork now, but I could geek out all day now that I understand using OPML to import a blogroll. (Which is still in progress with many additions to come!)
Please leave a comment. Subscribe to the new feed on Feedburner. Bookmark, Share & Enjoy.
Thanks again Flexo for helping me move. And thanks most of all to loyal readers, watchers, listeners.
ps - I’ll be gone all day Friday so look for new posts on Sunday or Monday.

Congrats on the switch! Looks like a seamless move. The only thing that I notice is that the default tagline (”Just another wordpress blog”) still shows, but that’s easily changed
Thanks for reminding about Veteran’s Day. I noticed when I was in Europe that the commemoration is much bigger and more solemn a day over there than it is in the US, where in most cities it’s another reason for a holiday sale. Perhaps that apply to DC though.

Congrats on the new site! A recommendation from Flexo will definitely get me reading your blog.
Good Luck with the ‘tweaking’ of the site; I’m still putting those little works in progress on mine.

Yay! Congrats on the move. You did a nice job of keeping the look and feel that you worked on with the blogger-based site.

There’s nothing like a white navy uniform to make a woman’s heart pound (either with lust or with frustration while doing the laundry!). Congratulations on your move!

Just so you know, you can change your blog address to be different than your installation folder. My own install folder is /wordpress/. I think there is a Wordpress Codex page on it, but let me know if you need any help. I’m sure Flexo knows better than me anyhow.

Question: Did you get the name Mapgirl because you like maps? Because that would be very hilarious yet interesting….

Binary Dollar, There is nothing hilarious about a love of maps. Try #8 of this list.
