I wore "tough skins" jeans, and various other hand-me-downs from my big brother. We almost never ate out or wanted to. Yes, I had my Star Wars toys, we weren't that poor. The only thing I would caution is going overboard on, "Well, we don't have as much money as the ____ Family. But we don't need it, we're happier than they are."
